What we cover
We cover the public life of the lobby: the arguments, bits, romances, and running jokes that play out where everyone can see them. We do not publish private messages, real-world addresses, phone numbers, financial details, workplaces, or anything that would identify a person off-platform.
Where our material comes from
Every story is built from transcripts that readers or staff donate at The Lobby Desk. We don’t monitor, log, or scrape the lobby in the background — we work from what people choose to hand us.
The Three-Witness Rule
A transcript doesn’t become a story on one person’s say-so. At least three different people must submit the same lobby moment before it qualifies. This corroboration is the heart of how we decide what’s real: it filters out lone grudges, one-off jokes, and fabricated screenshots, and it means the room itself — not any single tipster — sets the agenda.
How the newsroom writes
Our copy is produced by an automated newsroom that reads corroborated transcripts and writes them up in the house voice. Stories are dramatized: quotes are styled for effect, timelines are compressed, and details are embellished for comic value. Any resemblance to real persons is exactly the coincidence you’re invited to gossip about.
What we won’t do
No doxxing. No targeting of minors. No sexual content involving anyone who is not a consenting adult. No real threats, no incitement, and no passing off satire as literal fact.
Corrections & removals
If you’re featured and something is genuinely wrong — or you simply want out — reach The Lobby Desk with the article link and what you’d like changed. We honor reasonable correction and takedown requests. It’s gossip, not a grudge.
On your privacy
We don’t log IP addresses. To keep the Three-Witness count honest we store only a scrambled, salted one-way fingerprint — enough to tell one submitter apart from another, never enough to identify you or trace you back to an address. Want to be named? Add a handle. Leave it blank and you stay anonymous.
